The recreation of the 1944 Oxford Cambridge Boat Race at Ely III

The navy won the preliminary race.

The spitfire was flying fairly low but the pics are crops and possible represent the equivalent of a 400mm lens (35mm).

These pictures are the actually race. The crews were veteran teams (average age 50). The steam launch was the one used in the original race. Obviously Cambridge won.
